About
Dr. Sophia Dorwaldt (she/her) is a Staff Psychologist at Clear Path CBT with specialized training in OCD, anxiety disorders and ADHD for adults and adolescents. She earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Pacific University. Dr. Dorwaldt holds expertise in exposure-based treatments, is intensively trained in full-model DBT, and has extensive experience with transdiagnostic treatments for anxiety and executive functioning conditions.
During her graduate training and pre-doctoral fellowship, Dr. Dorwaldt honed her expertise providing Exposure and Response Prevention therapy for clients with OCD and transdiagnostic treatments for anxiety disorders, such as generalized anxiety disorder and panic disorder. She has also provided Prolonged Exposure, COPE, and Written Exposure Therapy for PTSD, in addition to facilitating transdiagnostic treatment groups treating emotion dysregulation and executive functioning. Furthermore, she has advanced training in ADHD assessments as well as integrated behavioral health with co-location in primary care settings. Dr. Dorwaldt has contributed toward research literature on the treatment, course, and etiology of anxiety and mood disorders. She served as research staff at Boston University’s Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders on an NIAAA-funded randomized controlled trial demonstrating the efficacy of the Unified Protocol (UP) as a transdiagnostic treatment for comorbid alcohol use and anxiety disorders led by the UP treatment developer and leading anxiety researcher, Dr. David H. Barlow.
At Clear Path CBT, Dr. Dorwaldt offers transdiagnostic treatments, CBT and full‑model DBT treatment for adolescents and adults experiencing emotion dysregulation, ADHD, OCD as well as a wide range of anxiety conditions. She is passionate about helping clients build tolerance for anxiety and uncertainty and reduce relevant behaviors and compulsions that maintain their symptoms. Dr. Dorwaldt approaches therapy with warmth, gentle encouragement, and respect for each person’s unique needs, helping clients gradually face new challenges and build resilience.
Outside of her clinical work, she finds joy in creating delicious baked treats, exploring nature on hikes, and gathering with her family for quality time—often over a favorite board game.
